Living Trust Mortgage Bank: What Oyebamiji owes Osun people?

Image
By Sarafa Ibrahim In 1993, Osun did the unthinkable. It was only two years after it was carved out of Oyo state yet, it was able to raise hopes for the future. That was what the decision to incorporate a financial company, the Osun Building Society Limited, clearly portrayed. The company was established to provide mortgage banking services, mortgage financing, real estate construction financing and general financial services. It was a bold and futuristic step, and interestingly, was taken under the administration of the first Executive Governor of Osun State, late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke. That kick-started a journey that not just spotlight the financial identity for Osun state but also a strategic investments for the benefits of all.  But all of that is gone now and the reason for this is in a 2019 deal that put the controlling shares of the state in the financial company in jeopardy. The administration of Gboyega Oyetola sold-off a significant amount of shares ...

Osun 2026: Our Vote, Our Power, Our Future

Image
By Comrade Samakin Abdul-Jeleel Abiodun Osun State stands at a defining moment in its political journey. For the first time in our history, we have a rare opportunity to strengthen democracy by making a bold and conscious choice; one that reflects our political awareness, courage, and commitment to progress. The Accord Party has never governed Osun State. Yet, this is not a limitation, it is an opportunity. An opportunity for the people of Osun to prove that democracy is not about routine, but about choice; not about pressure, but about conviction. We are a people who are enlightened, politically conscious, and unafraid to chart a new course when necessary. As the 2026 governorship election approaches, one truth remains clear: the power belongs to the people. Osun voters are not ignorant, neither are they easily swayed. We are informed, we are observant, and we understand what good governance looks like. We have seen different administrations; AD, PDP, ACN, and APC; and we ...

Hon Adesina Rabiu was a Liability, Rather than Asset to Iwo Accord —Party Leaders and Elders

Image
Hon Adesina Rabiu (ARA) who defected to All Progressives Congress(APC) today was more of a liability and embarrassment to the Accord than an asset, the forum of elders and leaders of Iwo Accord has disclosed. The party while responding to the defection of Hon Rabiu said the lawmaker had constituted serious nuisance and disappointments to his constituents from 2022 to date, noting that the party had refrained from acting against the lawmaker because of the intervention of some elders. “When he was invited to the Government House a few days ago, we knew he wouldn't stay any longer because his request for a second term ticket is a direct violation of the zoning formula operating within the Iwo state constituency. Aside from his abysmal performance which has made the party a laughing stock among Iwo people, Accord cannot violate the zoning formula which confirmed that Isale Oba is the next region to produce a state lawmaker. The defector was a beneficiary of the zoning form...

OSUN 2026: OYEBAMIJI AND HIS BATTERED PUBLIC SERVICE RECORD

Image
By Sarafa Ibrahim There is something amusing about politics in Nigeria, and that is how a complete mess is often repackaged as the real deal for the people to embrace. This, is unfortunately the scenario playing out in Osun state chapter as the All Progressives Congress (APC) is doing everything to whitewash the public service record of its candidate Mr Bola Oyebamiji, and make him seem as the ideal choice for the electorate in the August 15 governorship poll. Since he was railroaded on his party as candidate, promoters of Oyebamiji have pushed so hard to create an entirely different impression from the reality of his past service record in the minds of an average voters. They were in such a hurry to play up his suitability for the office he is aspiring for that they either forgot or deliberately ignored that Mr. Oyebamiji's uninspiring records in public service are too glaring to be manipulated. Governorship seat is a huge responsibility and the measure of capacity is ...

Image
Osun State ruling party, the Accord has queried the silence of Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressive Congress (APC) over the 30 questions posed to him by the state Government Media Centre, describing the attempt to evade the questions as both  “a confession of guilt and acceptance of defeat” In a statement issued on Friday morning, the party harshly criticised Mr Oyebamiji for dogding his past and his records of state service documented in government archives, declaring that “any candidate dogding serious questions about his service records is not fit to govern Osun state. “The AMBO Media asked Governor Adeleke 18 questions. Verifiable answers were provided within hours. The Government Media Centre then raised 30 questions, 72 hours have passed and Mr Oyebamiji is still silent. “Our governorship candidate, Governor Adeleke has also reeled out more than 30 achievements in various sectors of the state economy. Our upgraded Five Point Agenda was also released by Mr Governo...

Image
I wish to formally inform the good people of Oriade Local Government, political associates, supporters, and the general public that I have officially resigned my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Accord Party, the new progressive platform committed to genuine democracy and people‑centered governance. This decision follows a long period of reflection and consultation. The APC, under its present leadership, has derailed from democratic values and embraced anti‑people tendencies that undermine the collective interest of party members. The party has been hijacked by a few individuals who have pocketed its structure for selfish reasons, leaving millions of loyal and innocent members neglected. Despite repeated efforts to engage the leadership at all levels for reforms, every attempt was met with resistance and disregard. As someone who served the people of Oriade as Local Government Chairman for five impactful years delivering landmark achievements...
