Osun Is not Afraid of Your Brigandry; You Cannot Kill Your Way to Governorship — Gov Adeleke to Osun APC

Image
Governor Ademola Adeleke today visited the family of late Ezekiel Olapade who was killed on Sunday by APC thugs in branded Ambo bus, warning that Osun is not scared of APC brigandry and violence. The governor accompanied by top government officials wept alongside the family of the victims, declaring that “Osun APC and its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, cannot kill their way into governorship.  Expressing anguish and sorrow over a life cut shot for political reasons, the governor affirmed that Osun people cannot be cowed by gunshots and declared that “we are not afraid as we remain resolute in our re-election bid. “We are a courageous people; we cannot be silenced. We hold our heads high as we seek the support of our people. “I wonder who is behind APC strategy. You are attacking and maiming people you are seeking to govern. How is that a way to secure power? “You killed the innocents whose votes you need. They are attacking the people thi...

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has congratulated the paramount ruler of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, on the auspicious occasion of his 59th birthday, celebrating him as a monarch who exemplifies the heart, excellent and commitment to progress of his people. Governor Adeleke hails Oba Akanbi's ferocious promotion of the Yoruba identity and stubborn optimism in a prosperous Nigeria, noting that his unflinching courage and dazzling brilliance has not only spotlighted Iwoland positively but has also attracted opportunities for the town and subjects.  The Governor recognises Kabiyesi's steady work of harnessing interests and mobilising the abundance of human capitals in his domain towards peace, harmony and development of the ancient town, pointing out that the extraordinary reign of the Oluwo has brought about the first federal institution and the first-ever dual carriageway in Iwoland. "I hea...

ILA RIGGING MEETING: A SIGN OF DEFEAT FOR OSUN APC - OSUN ACCORD

Image
Our attention has been drawn to an evil political meeting held at the residence of Chief Bisi Akande by chieftains of the Osun state All Progressives Congress(APC). We note all the details and we conclude that the Osun APC has finally conceded defeat ahead of the August 15th polls. We are firstly disappointed that the calibre of people gathered at the said meeting could descend as low as to contemplate political killings of prominent Accord leaders as well as other illegal and unconstitutional actions towards compromising the August elections. This development is a reprehensible descent into political perdition which has further reinforced the imminent defeat of Bola Oyebamiji on August 15th. Now that the Osun APC has openly accepted defeat, we call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ignore and reject the failed plans of the Osun APC. We call the attention of Mr President to the genesis of current development which stemmed from Oyetola/Oyebamiji’s lack of capacity both in go...

YOUR COOKED-UP NARRATIVE AGAINST AKINLEYE, A DESPERATION TAKEN TOO FAR– ADELEKE'S SPOKESPERSON

Image
The Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed has dismissed the allegation of violence raised against the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, as a conjecture and a desperate attempt to distract attentions from the campaign of terror the Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is waging on Osun people, declaring that Alhaji Akinleye is a man of peace who abhors violence in any form. It is quite distasteful that the Osun APC is employing crooked means to target a good man with outright lies so as to impugn his character in the estimation of unsuspecting public.  Alhaji Akinleye is a politician well respected in the society for his peaceful disposition to pursuing political objectives. If there is anyone or group  who trades in violence to silence opponent, it is no other but the Osun APC, and it is quite unfortunate that the party will be so brazen to identify with Arabambi, a notorious thug who is suspecte...

Accord Remains a Registered Political Party, Flag Off Rally Holds Tomorrow-State Chairman

Image
Osun chapter of the Accord has reaffirmed the legality of the party and declared that the flag off of its governorship campaign slated for tomorrow is going ahead as planned. Reacting to subtle threats from some APC operatives, the state chairman affirmed that any attempt to disrupt or stop the rally will be resisted, calling on party members to troop out en masse for the ground breaking event. The party chairman said the court judgement was a directive issued to the electoral body which cannot be implemented because of its open illegality against the spirit and letters of the constitution. “ Aside from ongoing action by parties injured by the judgement, INEC will need to restore the integrity of the electoral process by appealing the ruling and by refusing to comply with an illegal order”, the statement noted. He stated that Accord remained a legally registered political party under the law, warning Osun APC to beware of actions and activities that can jeopardi...

Governor Adeleke Says Deregistration Ruling Violates Court of Appeal Order

Image
● Calls for Calm ● Says Flag off of Campaign Holds Tomorrow Governor Ademola Adeleke has described that judgement of the Federal High Court deregistering five political parties as an abuse of court process and direct violation of a subsisting order of the Court of Appeal. In a statement issued in response to the ruling the governor said the Appeal Court had made an order for the stay of proceedings by the Federal High Court,  more particularly the said judgment that was delivered, expressing  surprise that the lower court still proceeded to deliver a ruling on a matter already acted upon  by the Court of Appeal. It is on record before Honourable Justice Peter Lifu J that in the record of proceedings of the Court of Appeal of 22nd May, 2026 and which was put before his Lordship as Exhibit MAC 2 the Court of Appeal specifically pronounced that  "The delivery of the judgement is still part of the proceedings of the Court. " The governor urges the people to b...

TEXT OF A PRESS BRIEFING BY GOVERNOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE ON RECENT POLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS IN THE STATE TODAY MONDAY, JUNE 15TH, 2026

Image
Gentlemen of the press I invite you today for a review of recent developments as it affects our dear state. There were two court rulings today. The one at the Federal High Court, Abuja deregistering some political parties and the one at the Federal High Court, Osogbo, dismissing application for tenure elongation by Osun APC Yes/No chairmen. I congratulate our authentic elected chairmen on the Court ruling today. The dismissal of the elongation request conforms with the stipulations of the constitution. The judgment further validates the precedent set by the Supreme Court ruling that tenure elongation is unconstitutional. The Court also holds that the sacked chairmen have no legal foundation to file the case in the first place. Based on this ruling, it is clear the Yes/No chairmen's tenure, if at all they have any, elapsed October 2025.  Based on today's judgement, I therefore call on the Inspector General of Police to direct the Osun state police command to stop its...

A Passionate Apology: Governor Adeleke Did not Call Iwo a Village

Image
I write to affirm that Governor Adeleke has deep respect for Iwo people and he has not and will not disrespect a people he is so much dearly in love with.   Mr Governor did not and will never call Iwo a village. His passion to upgrade Iwo to its rightful status as a senatorial headquarters is unrivalled.  To our father, the highly revered Oluwo of Iwoland;  the Oluwo in Council; the Iwo Board of Trustees, the Iwo Action Council, the Isokan Musulumi; the Iwo muslim and christian bodies; the Isese association and the Awos; the youth and students bodies; and Iwo sons and daughters at home and in the disapora, His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke tenders unreserved apology for his sarcasm which opposition elements have twisted and misrepresented. Mr Governor did not call Iwo a village; Iwo is Mr Governor's second home right from the days of his late brother, the first executive governor of Osun state, Senator Isiaka Adeleke who was also a deep lover of Iw...

Image
Protocols My dear people of Osun State, It is with profound gratitude to Almighty God and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you today as we commemorate Democracy Day, June 12, a date that occupies a unique and sacred place in the political history of our nation. Today, we join millions of Nigerians across the country and around the world in celebrating a defining chapter in our democratic journey. We celebrate the resilience of our people, the strength of our institutions and the enduring triumph of democracy.  The significance of this day is rooted in the historic presidential election conducted on June 12, 1993. That election, won by the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (M.K.O.) Abiola, is widely regarded as the freest, fairest and most credible election in Nigeria's history. Nigerians, irrespective of ethnicity, religion or political affiliation, voted overwhelmingly in a remarkable demonstration of national unity and democratic maturity. However, the...

TEXT OF A PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED BY THE NATIONAL AND STATE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS FROM OSUN STATE ON FRIDAY

Image
12TH JUNE, 2026. Gentlemen of the Press, We have invited you here today to draw the attention of the Media, Civil Society Organisations, security agencies, the international community, and all lovers of democracy to a dangerous and alarming plot that threatens the peace, stability, and democratic future of Osun State. The Accord National and State Assembly Caucus, made up of 7 members of the National Assembly and 25 Hon members of the State Assembly, has received credible intelligence indicating that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Mr Bola Oyebamiji and leaders of the party in Osun have concluded plans to orchestrate large scale violence across the state as we move closer to the state Governorship election. The plan of the APC in Osun is to increase the current tempo of violent attacks on innocent members of the public and in particular members and supporters of Accord across the state in the ...

Exposed : AMBO Campaigns Rebranding Vehicles in Accord Colours to Launch Fresh Wave of Gun Attacks

Image
The Osun chapter of the Accord has raised alarm over an ongoing plot by the Bola Oyebamiji campaign organisation to rebrand and repaint some of its campaign vehicles in Accord colours to launch a fresh wave of gun attacks and blame it on Governor Ademola Adeleke. In a statement issued at Osogbo, the party state chairman, Pastor Victor Akande alerted the public and the security agencies of the  devilish agenda which is currently ongoing at Kabtok hotel owned by a chieftain of the Osun APC.  The party alerted the public that the APC campaign is currently replacing Ambo logos with Accord/Adeleke pictures and that the plan is to use the rebranded vehicles to start another round of gun attacks.  The ruling party went further to inform the public that the rebranding process is currently ongoing at the hotel, adding that "reliable information revealed that the new round of attacks may happen from tonight or Saturday across major towns in Osun. “We gathered that the t...

How Governor Adeleke Foiled Bid to Stop Accord's Canvassers’ Rally- Adeleke Spokesperson

Image
● Blasts APC Statement as “Bundle of Fake News” Osun APC is spreading falsehood and fake news about the hugely successful Accord canvassers’ rally because it failed in its anti-democratic plot to stop the event from holding. Giving the above clarification was the spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed who decried the concerted efforts of the state APC to deploy the state police command as a tool to block a legally convened campaign and mobilisation event. Narrating how Governor Ademola Adeleke foiled APC bid to stop the rally, the spokesperson said the Osun APC launched a coordinated plot to use the police to stop the event from holding by clandestinely claiming to be organising another event on the same day as an alibi for the police to cancel all political events in the town. In what appeared like a joint operation, the state police command without consulting the state government purportedly issued a statement cancelling a campaign ev...

Security Surveilance: Governor Adeleke Mulls Acquisition of New Drones

Image
Following the disappearance of five security drones fully paid for under the Oyetola administration,  Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed his security team to consider the acquisition of new drones for security surveillance in the state. This decision is an outcome of the series of Marathon security meetings Chaired by the Governor over the last four days. Government records indicated that Osun state had paid for five security drones under former Governor Oyetola, but none was on ground as of 2022 when Governor Adeleke assumed office. Another failed contract running to about Three Hundred Million Naira was awarded under the previous government to link the State security communication centre with the Armoured Personnel Carriers. Sadly, the contract was not executed, and the armoured vehicles were also abandoned in various parts of the state until Governor Adeleke retrieved and refurbished them for deployment. Reviewing the scenario at the security meetings, the Governo...
