Accord Remains a Registered Political Party, Flag Off Rally Holds Tomorrow-State Chairman
Osun chapter of the Accord has reaffirmed the legality of the party and declared that the flag off of its governorship campaign slated for tomorrow is going ahead as planned.
Reacting to subtle threats from some APC operatives, the state chairman affirmed that any attempt to disrupt or stop the rally will be resisted, calling on party members to troop out en masse for the ground breaking event.
The party chairman said the court judgement was a directive issued to the electoral body which cannot be implemented because of its open illegality against the spirit and letters of the constitution.
“ Aside from ongoing action by parties injured by the judgement, INEC will need to restore the integrity of the electoral process by appealing the ruling and by refusing to comply with an illegal order”, the statement noted.
He stated that Accord remained a legally registered political party under the law, warning Osun APC to beware of actions and activities that can jeopardise the peace and stability of the state.
“We declare that the Accord meets all constitutional requirements for its standing as a political party. The lower court judgement is a direct attack on facts and reality of the political statistics of the Accord.
“We therefore advised security agencies not to become a tool in the hands of the lawless Osun APC. Our people are prepared to exercise their rights as guaranteed by the constitution.
“We specifically call on the Police Commissioner to redeem his image and that of the state command by rejecting the overture by Osun APC to disrupt the Tuesday event. Our rally is legal and within the bounds of extant laws and the constitution.
“Our rally is going ahead and we will resist any ploy or plot to stop the event. I charge our members to enter town and prove to the world that Governor Ademola Adeleke is the choice of Osun people”, the party chairman was quoted as saying.

Pastor Victor Akande
State Chairman
