CONTEDISS Approval: Adeleke wins praise from Osun Health College

ILESA (OSUN)/ SEPT. 22- Members of staff of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, are still basking in the euphoria of the approval of the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS) for the institution, describing the development as a major boost to workers’ welfare.

According to the workers, the development is a testament to the commitment of Gov. Ademola Adeleke to the welfare and wellbeing of workers in the state, particularly staff of the College.

They expressed appreciation to the governor, noting that workers at the institution had for many years agitated for the approval of the CONTEDISS salary structure without success.

The workers said the approval came as a pleasant surprise, especially after previous efforts through organised labour and successive administrations had failed to yield the desired result.

They said the gesture had reaffirmed Adeleke’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare and ensuring that staff of the College enjoyed conditions comparable to those of their counterparts in other tertiary institutions in the state.

They also noted that the approval demonstrated the governor’s recognition of the specialised nature of the College, which focuses on health training, and the need to adequately motivate workers in the sector.

The workers described the College as one of the leading health-training institutions in the country, saying the various interventions by the state government were helping to strengthen its operations and sustain its relevance in the training of health professionals.
