ADELEKE GENERAL SUMMIT HOLDS STAKEHOLDERS' MEETING, INTENSIFIES GRASSROOTS MOBILISATION AND PVC COLLECTION AHEAD OF GOV. ADELEKE REELECTION
Ede - 11-07-2026
The leadership and stakeholders of Adeleke General Summit (AGS) yesterday convened a strategic stakeholders' meeting in Ede, where members reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening grassroots mobilisation and intensifying the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across all local government areas of Osun State.
The meeting focused on developing practical strategies to enhance voter sensitisation, expand grassroots engagement, and coordinate campaign activities in preparation for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Addressing the gathering, the State Coordinator of Adeleke General Summit and Chairman of Ilesa West Local Government, Hon. Diti Aluko, charged members to redouble their efforts by taking the mobilisation campaign to every ward and community across the state. He commended the dedication and sacrifices of the various support groups since the inception of the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Hon. Aluko also applauded the coordinators of the affiliated support groups for their exemplary leadership and effective coordination, describing their commitment as a major pillar of the movement's continued growth and success.
The stakeholders unanimously resolved to intensify efforts toward ensuring the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke by embarking on aggressive grassroots mobilisation, sustained voter education, and the encouragement of eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The meeting further agreed that each support group should immediately commence coordinated mobilisation activities within their respective local government areas, with emphasis on community engagement, house-to-house campaigns, and voter awareness programmes.
The leadership of Adeleke General Summit also expressed profound appreciation to Dr. Deji Adeleke for his continuous support and commitment to the success of Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration.
Speaking at the meeting, His Royal Highness, Oba Dr. Adewole Akinpelu, the Olu of Asawure, observed that the defeat of the previous administration was largely due to its failure to connect with the people and its tendency to underestimate the electorate. According to the monarch, the extensive network of support groups spread across the 30 local government areas and the Area Office of Osun State represents a formidable political asset capable of strengthening any political movement.
He urged political leaders to continue embracing and supporting grassroots organisations, noting that such collaboration would significantly enhance political participation and electoral success.
During the interactive session, representatives from all local government areas presented reports highlighting developments and challenges within their respective jurisdictions. Following extensive deliberations, the leadership resolved to prioritise key areas, including effective deployment of party agents, increased PVC collection, intensified house-to-house campaigns, enhanced election monitoring, and sustained grassroots mobilisation across Osun State.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge by all stakeholders to work collectively and diligently toward achieving a resounding victory for Governor Ademola Adeleke in the forthcoming governorship election.
The meeting was attended by the State Coordinator of Adeleke General Summit, Hon. Diti Aluko; His Royal Highness, Oba Dr. Adewole Akinpelu, the Olu of Asawure, Ife South Local Government; the State Secretary, Hon. Samakin Abdul-Jeleel Abiodun; the three Senatorial Coordinators of Adeleke General Summit, individual group Coordinators; and other critical stakeholders from across Osun State.
