RE: ALLEGED PLOT TO UNDERMINE ELECTORAL INTEGRITY IN OSUN STATE




The Osun Grassroot Movement (OGM) has received credible intelligence regarding a calculated and clandestine plot by elements within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate the forthcoming electoral process in Osun State. 

Central to these disturbing developments is the reported transfer of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, alongside alleged moves to deploy compromised electoral mechanisms to Osun state aimed at subverting the will of the people.

We view these actions as a direct affront to democracy and a dangerous attempt to disenfranchise the good people of Osun State through backdoor tactics and institutional compromise. Such maneuvers, if left unchecked, pose a grave threat to peace, stability, and democratic consolidation in the state.

The Osun Grassroot Movement hereby issues a firm and unequivocal warning to APC gladiators and their collaborators. 
Osun State is not a theatre for electoral manipulation. Any attempt to rig, distort, or undermine the sanctity of the ballot will be met with lawful resistance and widespread civic opposition.

We call on all critical stakeholders, civil society organizations, the media, traditional institutions, and the international community to rise to this moment and speak out decisively against any plot to erode democratic norms.

 Silence at a time like this amounts to complicity.

Furthermore, we urge the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to uphold its constitutional mandate as an impartial arbiter. 

The Commission must resist any undue influence or political pressure that may compromise its integrity. INEC must not, under any circumstance, allow itself to be reduced to an appendage of partisan interests.

We specifically call on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission  to exercise utmost diligence in the deployment of electoral personnel to Osun State.

 Any attempt to assign officials of questionable integrity will be robustly challenged through all legitimate and legal channels available.

The Osun Grassroot Movement reiterates its unwavering demand for a free, fair, transparent, and credible election, devoid of manipulation, coercion, or fraud. 

The will of the people must prevail, nothing more, nothing less.

Osun belongs to its people, and their mandate cannot and will not be stolen.

Court restrains UBA from paying out Osun LG allocations

An Oyo State High Court on Friday, 26 September, 2025 restrained the United Bank for Africa (UBA) from paying out any money from accounts opened in the names of the 30 Local Governments in Osun State by the court-sacked All Progressives Congress Local Government Chairmen and councillors.  The order has been served on the bank. The Federal Government on Friday released the seized allocations of each of the 30 Local Governments into the controversial new accounts, a decision the state government took to court in suit number 1/1149/25.  The case which was heard Ex-parte on Friday by Justice A.L.
