Jubilation in Okerewe Ward 2, Ife East as Hon. Owojori Babatunde Visits, Donates to Party Growth, Rallies Support for Gov. Adeleke


It was an atmosphere of celebration and high spirits in Okerewe Ward 2 on yesterday, May 6, 2026, as party faithful, community leaders, and supporters gathered in large numbers to warmly receive Hon. Owojori Babatunde popularly known as Tokunbo.

The visit, characterized by vibrant energy and singing, served as a powerful homecoming. It provided a platform for Hon. Owojori to not only reconnect with the grassroots but also to align local party energy with the broader vision of progress in Osun State.

Addressing the crowd, Hon. Owojori seized the opportunity to advocate for political continuity and good governance. He passionately canvassed for the support of the party faithful, urging them to back the reelection bid of Governor Ademola Adeleke. 

In a speech that resonated with the audience, Hon. Owojori highlighted the transformative achievements of the Adeleke administration as the driving force behind his call for support. 

"We are witnesses to a silent revolution in our state," Hon. Owojori declared, pointing to the massive road infrastructural developments currently opening up various communities across the state. He also touched on a matter close to the hearts of public servants: the governor’s welfare-oriented policies. He commended Governor Adeleke for successfully offsetting the backlog of half-salary arrears inherited from the previous APC administration, alongside ensuring the regular and timely payment of salaries to civil servants. 

To translate his vision of party growth and grassroots empowerment into immediate action, Hon. Owojori announced a generous financial donation of ₦300,000 to the ward's central administration. In a gesture that ignited loud cheers, he also presented an undisclosed cash donation to the Okerewe Ward 2 Accord  Youth wing, encouraging them to remain active drivers of community development.

Recognizing the logistical challenges faced during grassroots meetings, Hon. Owojori pledged to purchase and deliver a modern public address system to ensure effective communication during ward gatherings. Additionally, he promised to supply comfortable chairs to ensure the convenience of members during regular party meetings.

Receiving the visitor, the Ward Chairman, Hon. Fatai Yusuf; popularly known as Faworaja officially welcomed Hon. Owojori and his entourage. 

Hon. Yusuf expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the executives and members, highly commending Hon. Owojori’s steadfast dedication, benevolence, and consistent support. He noted that such leadership is exactly what is needed to keep the party united, motivated, and poised for future success.

Court restrains UBA from paying out Osun LG allocations

An Oyo State High Court on Friday, 26 September, 2025 restrained the United Bank for Africa (UBA) from paying out any money from accounts opened in the names of the 30 Local Governments in Osun State by the court-sacked All Progressives Congress Local Government Chairmen and councillors.  The order has been served on the bank. The Federal Government on Friday released the seized allocations of each of the 30 Local Governments into the controversial new accounts, a decision the state government took to court in suit number 1/1149/25.  The case which was heard Ex-parte on Friday by Justice A.L.
