Imole Re-election: Toba Ayotunde Empowers Edun Abon Ward, Slams APC Over LG Funds

In a show of grassroots support for the ACCORD, Hon Awokojo Toba Ayotunde, popularly known as Awokojo for Imole, made notable financial and material contributions during the Edun Abon Ward 2 General Meeting of Ife North Local Government held at ST Peter Anglican Primary School.

Addressing party members and local stakeholders, Hon Awokojo announced a cash donation of ₦100,000 to the ward and an additional ₦400,000 donation to some local government leaders within the party. In further support of the ongoing re-election efforts of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, he also donated 150 IMOLE re-election campaign caps to the ward, which were received with enthusiasm by party faithful.

In his remarks, Hon Awokojo urged members not to be “deceived by APC Greek gift,” warning that while the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government has deliberately withheld and diverted Local Government allocations, Governor Ademola Adeleke has remained steadfast in his responsibilities. He highlighted that the Governor continues to pay staff and officials under the Local Government, including primary school teachers, health workers, and local government workers. He also pointed to ongoing infrastructural projects across the state as evidence of the administration’s commitment to development despite fiscal challenges.

Party leaders at the ward meeting commended Hon Awokojo’s generosity and reaffirmed their commitment to the re-election of Governor Adeleke’s administration. They described his interventions as timely and impactful, noting that such support strengthens the party’s mobilization at the grassroots level.

The meeting was well attended by key stakeholders in Ward 2, including Hon Tope Babawale, Hon Lawrence Olugbenga (Ward Chairman) and all ward 2 executives, Hon Fatai Tijani (Ward 2 Councilor), Hon Taiwo (Woman Leader), Hon Olufisoye Abiodun (Youth Leader), Hon Taofikat (Ex-officio), Hon Oluwabayo Ola Thomas (Ward Secretary), and Hon Olayioye (Ward Treasurer).
