7th Edition Conference: Osun Grassroots Media Mourns Death of ACCORD member in AMBO ward, Urges Thorough Police Investigation; Promises Intensified Campaign for Adeleke Reelection


The Osun Grassroots Media Team, popularly known as Aseyori IMOLE Osun, today held its monthly meeting where members collectively mourned the gruesome murder of Eluyera Kolade, an Accord member in AMBO ward, Ikire, Irewole local government.The group also called on the police to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation, stressing that the perpetrator must be brought to justice.

Speaking at the meeting, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Media Monitoring, Comrade Abdul-Jeleel Samakin, described the killing as a dangerous escalation of political activity. He urged law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned in tracking the attackers and supporting evidence-led prosecution. He further appealed to members not to be discouraged, noting that the community must remain united and steadfast, even as they strengthen grassroots engagement.

Eluyera Kolade who was killed by suspected APC thugs, Comrade Abdul-Jeleel Samakin described the killing as threat to our democracy and a threat to the peace of the society.

In his remarks, the SSA to the Governor on Broadcast media, Alhaji Abdulraheem Adekilekun, admonished members to continue amplifying the achievements of the IMOLE administration. He encouraged members to share short, credible videos showcasing both completed and ongoing infrastructural projects.

Also speaking, Hon. Tegbe highlighted the importance of grassroots mobilization, urging members to remain proactive in canvassing and community outreach for IMOLE’s victory in the upcoming Governorship election.

Rounding off the addresses, Hon. Sola Isola cautioned the team against political distractions. He advised members to remain laser-focused on Governor Adeleke’s re-election rather than getting sidetracked by their individual support for various aspirants contesting under the ACCORD. 

"Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election remains our ultimate unifier and primary objective," Isola stressed, urging absolute unity of purpose among the grassroots media team.

On final note, Hon Olalekan Badmus commended members of the grassroot media team for their total support and sacrifice in projecting the achievement of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Court restrains UBA from paying out Osun LG allocations

An Oyo State High Court on Friday, 26 September, 2025 restrained the United Bank for Africa (UBA) from paying out any money from accounts opened in the names of the 30 Local Governments in Osun State by the court-sacked All Progressives Congress Local Government Chairmen and councillors.  The order has been served on the bank. The Federal Government on Friday released the seized allocations of each of the 30 Local Governments into the controversial new accounts, a decision the state government took to court in suit number 1/1149/25.  The case which was heard Ex-parte on Friday by Justice A.L.
