Osun APC Lacks Credible Grounds to Campaign Against Governor Ademola Adeleke

By Comrade Abdul-Jeleel Samakin

Good governance remains the foremost yardstick for evaluating successful political leadership. It is measured by the ability of a government to deliver tangible dividends of democracy to the people. On this score, Governor Ademola Adeleke has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the people of Osun State through people-centred policies, transparency in governance, and visible achievements across the local government areas of the state.

The people of Osun State are no longer politically naive. They understand the true essence of politics, service to the people, not the pursuit of personal or sectional interests. They also recognize the importance of integrity, accountability, and empathy in leadership. This growing political consciousness explains why propaganda and misinformation can no longer substitute for performance.

Osun State learned painful but unforgettable lessons under the administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. Despite controlling the state’s resources between 2018 and 2022, that administration left behind little in terms of sustainable achievements or enduring legacies. Today, the same APC struggles to justify its record, resorting instead to diversionary tactics and character attacks.

Rather than engage on issues of governance and development, some APC apologists persist in questioning Governor Ademola Adeleke’s educational background; an argument they have recycled since 2018. This line of attack is not only weak but dishonest, especially in the face of clear evidence of purposeful leadership, infrastructural renewal, and people-oriented governance under the current administration.

Governor Ademola Adeleke deserves commendation for stabilising Osun State and addressing the gaps left by the previous APC administration. In Ilesha and its environs alone, several projects have been completed, with many others ongoing; clear proof of inclusive governance and balanced development across the state.

Osun APC has consistently failed to position itself as a responsible and constructive opposition. Rather than offering alternative ideas or policy-driven criticism, it has chosen the path of propaganda and misinformation. Unfortunately for them, the people of Osun State are watching, informed, and capable of distinguishing between noise and performance.
