OSPAA Honours Dr. Samuel Adebanjo Adetunji (Dr. Fish) with the Distinguished Alumni Award

In yet another moment of pride for Osun born, renowned philanthropist and CEO of Sammadecom Nigeria Limited, Dr. Samuel Adebanjo Adetunji, fondly called Dr. Fish, has once again taken centre stage as a beacon of excellence and compassion. The Osun State Polytechnic Alumni Association (OSPAA) has bestowed upon him the Distinguished Alumni Award in Business Leadership, Community Development, and Empowerment. This honour also recognizes his unwavering commitment to the progress of the Alumni Association and the upliftment of the OSPOLY community.

Dr. Adetunji’s philanthropic footprint stretches far and wide, from Jos Plateau State to several communities across Osun State and Nigeria at large, countless individuals, groups, and institutions have felt the warmth of his generosity. His acts of kindness continue to break boundaries and rewrite narratives of hope.

Most recently, he made a profound mark by donating a multimillion-naira building project in his hometown, Iyeku, in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State. This edifice was handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, serving as critical support to the security architecture of the border communities between Osun and Kwara States. Such gestures reflect his dedication to community growth, safety, and collective progress.

The OSPAA 2025 Award Ceremony witnessed the presence of eminent personalities, including:
His Royal Majesty, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal; the Timi of Ede Land, Comrade Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi; Rector, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Hon. Lukman Afolabi Abere; Executive Chairman, Ede North Local Government, Chief Tajudeen Gbadamosi; the Asiwaju of Iyeku Land, OSPAA Alumni Executives, among several other dignitaries.

In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Dr. Samuel Adebanjo Adetunji expressed deep gratitude to the Alumni Association for the noble recognition. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the growth and advancement of the association, promising to continue contributing to the greatness of the institution and Osun State as a whole. He also extended his appreciation to all dignitaries and well-wishers who graced the memorable occasion.

Adding to his growing list of honours, the Atapara of Iyeku, Oba Salahudeen Soliu Ajiboye, is set to install Dr. Adetunji as the Olu-Omo of Iyeku Land on 26th December 2025, in recognition of his sustained community engagement and remarkable contributions to development.

As the saying goes, “Goodness is a seed; plant it, and destiny will water it. Indeed, it is good to be good.” This timeless truth perfectly embodies the golden heart and selfless spirit of Dr. Samuel Adebanjo Adetunji (Dr. Fish) — a man whose life continues to inspire, uplift, and transform.
