Wife of Osun Governor Honoured with an Award of Outstanding Excellence in Social Empowerment at the Nigerian 65th Independence Awards Dinner 2025, Held in New York, United States of America

The Wife of the Governor of Osun State, Her Excellency, Amb. Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke, was honoured with an Award of Outstanding Excellence in Social Empowerment at the Nigerian 65th Independence Awards Dinner 2025, held in New York, United States of America.

The prestigious event drew dignitaries from across the globe, including Her Excellency, Dr. Amina J. Mohammed (GCON), Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations; Dr. Eromonsele Idahosa; H.E. Amb. Samson Itegboje, Ambassador/Charge d'Affaires, Nigeria Permanent Mission to the United Nations; Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, Consular General, Nigerian Embassy, New York (Host); and Ambassador Nicholas Agbo Ella, former Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, among others.

Her Excellency was accompanied to the event by Deaconess Olusola Adewusi, Wife of the Deputy Governor of Osun State; Dr. Emily, Dr. Linda, and other friends and well-wishers.

Speaking after receiving the award, Amb. Adeleke expressed delight that Nigerians had recognized and appreciated her contributions to humanity. She noted that such recognition continued to encourage her to do more for society through her humanitarian initiatives.

In her acceptance remarks, she expressed heartfelt appreciation to the organizers for the honour bestowed upon her. She further urged dignitaries and attendees to remain proud of their Nigerian identity, emphasizing that Nigerians should always celebrate who they are.

She concluded by giving all glory to God for the recognition and achievements.

IGP Egbetokun Conniving with Oyetola and Osun APC to assassinate Adeleke, PDP alleges

The leadership of the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun of hobnobbing with the opposition All Progressives Congress to assassinate the state governor, Ademola Adeleke amid the crisis surrounding control of local government areas in the state.
