Instead of Apologizing to the People of Osun, APC Embarks on a Show of Shame
By Comrade Samakin Abdul-Jeleel Abiodun
If the All Progressives Congress (APC) has chosen to forget, Osun people will not. We remember vividly the years of maladministration, mismanagement, and inept leadership that characterized their rule. The records remain open, a painful reminder of how the APC, under the leadership of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, plunged Osun State into economic setbacks and developmental stagnation.
Rather than taking responsibility for their failures or tendering an apology to the people they wronged, the APC now parades itself in the streets of Osogbo under the guise of a so-called “Unity Walk.” What unity are they celebrating? Unity in corruption, in deceit, or in failure?
The people of Osun deserve sincerity, not staged drama. It is insulting that those who left behind unpaid salaries, abandoned projects, and a mountain of debts now seek to rewrite history through political jamborees. A party that should be on its knees seeking forgiveness is instead obstructing traffic and disrupting business activities with a meaningless parade.
Osun people must remain vigilant. The same propaganda, lies, and empty promises that defined APC’s 2018 campaign are back in circulation. We must not be deceived again. Governor Ademola Adeleke rescued Osun from the grip of impunity and maladministration, and the people must stand firm to protect that victory.
If truly APC has anything to offer, let them show tangible achievements from their years in power. The truth is simple: there are none — only tales of misused resources and misplaced priorities. Their recent “Unity Walk” is nothing but a show of shame, a desperate attempt to stay relevant despite losing the trust of the people.
A true son or daughter of Osun will never be swayed by APC’s empty rhetoric. We have seen their type of governance; we have lived through their failures. The people have learned their lesson, and no amount of propaganda or rented crowd can erase that truth.
The APC should stop insulting the intelligence of Osun people and focus on introspection. What Osun needs now is progress, peace, and purposeful leadership — not chaos disguised as a unity march.
