Osun Artisans, Market Women, and Traders set to Endorse Governor Ademola Adeleke for Second Term

As Osun State prepares for the 2026 governorship election, Artisans, Traders, Market Women across all Local Governments in Osun state is set to formally endorse His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for a second term in office and beyond 2026.

Governor Adeleke’s administration has consistently demonstrated people-centered governance. He has continued to clear the backlogs of half-salary arrears left behind by the previous APC administration, a long-awaited relief for Osun workers, a move that has improved greatly the economy of the state and positively affected the businesses of Traders, Artisans, and Market Women across the state. Despite the seizure since January of local government allocations by the APC-led federal government despite several Court of law Judgements directing its release, he has never failed in the regular payment of staff salaries, continued infrastructure and economic development, ensuring economic stability and dignity for civil servants.
In addition, his ambitious infrastructural agenda is breaking new grounds. The construction of long overhead bridges across the three senatorial districts, the first of its kind in Osun’s history, this is reshaping the state’s landscape and easing transportation for millions. Alongside these, massive road projects, healthcare interventions, and grassroots development initiatives remain visible testaments of his inclusive leadership, Light up Osun Project has enabled traders and Market women across the state to trade till late hours in the Night, amongst other initiative positively affecting the economy of the state.
With this conviction, Artisans, Traders, Market Women and people of Osun state across all Local Governments in the state has declared Thursday, September 11, 2026, as a landmark day to reaffirm its commitment to good governance by endorsing Governor Adeleke for a second term. 
The Endorsement Program is Organized by The People First Movement, The People First Movement is a non-partisan movement of well-meaning Nigerians across all spheres of life who want good Governance and sustainable development. Its guiding principle is simple: support any leader or administration that genuinely puts the people first. After a thorough evaluation of Governor Adeleke’s stewardship since November 2022, the movement has unanimously concluded that Governor's Adeleke giant strides in Osun qualifies him for second term.

For PFM, this decision is not just about politics; it is about sustaining progress, deepening development, and keeping Osun State on the path of people-centred governance.
