Opinion: Adeleke’s Leadership Defines Excellence — Osun Has Moved Beyond APC’s Deceit. By Blessing Adegbite
For years, Osun State was trapped in the empty rhetoric and endless jamborees of the All Progressives Congress (APC). It was a government of propaganda, hollow promises, and failed policies that left the people disillusioned and the state in ruins.
Today, that story has changed. Osun has broken free and is now under the stewardship of a promise keeper, a God-fearing and open-hearted leader. Governor Ademola Adeleke has ushered the state into an era of tangible progress, purposeful action, and visible results.
The contrast could not be clearer: while APC gave Osun bitterness, stagnation, and despair, Adeleke has delivered hope, development, and dignity.
Governor Adeleke has turned long-dismissed possibilities into reality. Strategic overhead bridges, dualized highways, and numerous community roads have redefined the state’s landscape. Urgent interventions are swiftly addressed, proving that Osun now has a government that listens and acts. Infrastructure is no longer campaign propaganda—it is a lived reality.
In just two and half years, Osun has become a model in healthcare delivery. Over 200 Primary Health Care Centres have been rehabilitated and equipped with modern facilities, drugs, and equipment. More than 60,000 residents have benefitted from medical outreaches, including free eyeglasses and surgeries. Pensioners and even prison inmates are now covered under the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS). Meanwhile, the Uniosun Teaching Hospital has been upgraded to meet global standards.
The APC left behind a broken educational system. Adeleke is rebuilding it with purpose. From renovating classrooms across all 30 local governments to implementing policy reforms in tertiary institutions, his administration is creating conducive environments for learning. Teachers, students, and schools now enjoy support that empowers them to thrive.
No administration in Osun’s history has prioritized youths like Governor Adeleke’s. Over 10,000 young people have benefitted from the Imole Youth Corps, gaining stipends and engagement. The Imole Free Wi-Fi project has expanded digital access, while thousands of entrepreneurs and small businesses have received funding. Most importantly, youths now hold seats at the table of governance, with vibrant young leaders appointed into key positions.
Despite inheriting debts and withheld local government allocations, Adeleke has made workers’ welfare a top priority. Salaries are paid regularly, arrears cleared, and entitlements restored. Workers and pensioners who once suffered half-salaries under APC now enjoy their full pay. It is no surprise that civil servants, artisans, and market leaders openly endorse him for another term.
Farmers are also beneficiaries of this people-focused governance. Farm roads have been rehabilitated, tractors and fertilisers distributed, and funding support provided. Agriculture in Osun now has a new lease of life, contributing to inclusive development across the state.
Unlike the APC’s era of exclusion, Adeleke has placed the people at the heart of governance. Projects are executed by local contractors and workers, ensuring that state resources circulate within Osun and empower its people.
Governor Adeleke’s leadership defines excellence—anchored on service, action, and results. He has restored dignity to families, given youths a voice, and delivered progress across sectors. More than a politician, he is a servant-leader, a father figure, and a symbol of possibility.
As the 2026 governorship election approaches, one truth stands tall: none of the APC aspirants scrambling for tickets can match Adeleke’s record, integrity, or excellence. The people of Osun know better now.
Osun will never return to deceit, propaganda, and empty promises. With Governor Ademola Adeleke, the choice remains clear: light over darkness, progress over stagnation, and results over rhetoric.
Adeleke’s second term is not just a possibility—it is a certainty. One good and successful tenure deserves another.
Imole till 2030!
