Olojo Festival: Governor Adeleke Felicitates with Ooni of Ife, Children of the Source
Governor Ademola Adeleke has felicitated with his imperial majesty, Oonirisa Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi and sons and daughters of Ile Ife on the occasion of the 2025 Olojo Day festival.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the state governor noted the spiritual significance of the Olojo festival as he prayed that the blessings of our ancestors continue to follow us now and all the time.
Governor Adeleke who extolled the virtue of the Oonirisa as a cultural icon said the state government recognised the sacred significance of Olojo festival and other cultural festivals, assuring that his administration will redouble efforts and commitment to upgrading and expanding such sacred festivals and sites across the state.
“Cultural festivals are the backbone of Indian and many Asian economies. We will boost cultural tourism by placing Olojo and other significant festivals on the global map.
“Kabiyesi, permit me to assure you that our administration will not abandon any ongoing projects. Gone are the days when project funds were diverted to private pockets. Gone were the days when several roads and utility projects were truncated because funds were misappropriated.
“If Ile Ife or any parts of Osun had experienced such in the past, it would not happen under my watch. While we are not probing previous administrations, we are committed to completing all inherited abandoned projects.
“Our dear imperial Majesty, our administration has reconstructed almost 25 roads at Ile Ife. The flyover bridge will soon be completed. The road leading to the Oonirisa palace will be dualised. Ile Ife will soon assume the cultural tourism hub of South Western Nigeria.
“I rejoice with all sons and daughters of the source as well as all Yoruba people at home and abroad on this important occasion”, the Governor was quoted as saying in the statement.

Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
