"Good day to you all. It is with great honour and a profound sense of responsibility that I stand before you today. We are gathered here not merely as individuals but as a collective member of a vibrant and diverse society intertwined through our daily journeys on the roads of Osun and Nigeria at large.
"Our roads are not just pathways; they are lifelines that connect us to our families, our communities, and our shared national identity. They symbolize opportunity, progress, and the spirit of Nigeria.
"However, as much as our roads facilitate connection, they also present unique challenges that demand our immediate and unified attention.
"Today, we face a pressing issue: the increasing number of road-related conflicts, accidents, and violations. These incidents do not merely affect individuals, but they echo through the fabric of our society, impacting families, draining our resources, and breeding a culture of distrust and discontent among road users.
"Every day, millions of us travel these roads – drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians – each with our own rights and responsibilities. Yet, too often, we find ourselves trapped in a cycle of haste, impatience, and thoughtlessness. We forget that every vehicle on the road represents a life, a story, and a family waiting for a safe return.
"Governor Ademola Adeleke, the most happiest and award-winning Vanguard Personality of the Year in infrastructure, is no doubt the number peace Ambassador, reconstructing Osun on the path of progress.
"Today, I urge each of you to join us in fostering a culture of harmony and mutual respect among all road users. Let us remember why we share these roads: to connect, to thrive, and to support one another in our journeys.
"Promoting crises free road awareness begins with educating road users about safety regulations, traffic rules, and the importance of empathy on the road. Every workshop, every campaign, and every billboard can serve as a reminder that our actions have consequences.
"Let us advocate for respect on the roads. Whether you are in a car, on a bike, or walking, each road user deserves consideration. Let’s practice patience and kindness, and extend the hand of understanding to one another in moments of frustration.
"We need to engage with all stakeholders—government agencies, transportation unions, community leaders, and civil society. By collaborating, we can implement better infrastructure, safer road designs, and effective public transport systems, reducing congestion and promoting efficiency.
"We must hold ourselves and each other to high standards. Let us commit to reporting violations, advocating for justice, and supporting policies that penalize reckless behavior while encouraging responsible driving habits.
"let’s celebrate our diversity on the roads. In Nigeria, we come from various backgrounds and cultures, each with our own unique ways of moving through this life. Let our differences enrich our experiences, forging a deeper sense of community and unity as we travel together.
"In conclusion, the road to harmony is not the easiest path, but it is one that is essential for our collective well-being.
"As we leave this gathering today, let us carry with us the conviction to be ambassadors of peace, understanding, and cooperation.
"I call upon each of you to embrace the values of patience, understanding, and respect during the ember months. Let’s foster an environment of harmony among all road users. Together, we can prevent needless accidents and ensure that our roadways reflect the spirit of our nation – a spirit of peace, unity, and safety.
"Together, we can build a Nigeria where every road journey is a safe one, marked by respect and understanding. Let us be the change we wish to see, transforming our roads into spaces of peace where everyone can travel without fear.
"I urge Osun State Transport Management System to keep supporting our administration and work together harmoniously as a team for progress, that Governor Ademola Adeleke symbolizes.Thank you, and let us tMrel safely together", Honorable Abdulrasheed Aderibigbe said.
