Dr. Femi Adefila to Deliver Osun Herald Annual Lecture

Dr. Femi Adefila, the Chairman/CEO of Rave 91.7 FM will on Sunday 18th of December 2022 deliver the annual Osun Herald public lecture.
According to a statement signed by Blessing Adegbite, Managing Editor of the magazine, this year topic is “Democracy and Sustainable Development; The Roles of the Media”.
Adegbite said that a year preceding an election year is always crucial in the life of a nation and the sustainability of it nascent democracy, hence all hands must be on deck to make sure that everybody works towards sustaining the democratic process. The role of the Mass Media for sustainable democracy cannot be overemphasized, Media as an important estate of the realm need to identify and play its roles very well in democratic sustainability and there is no other person that can do justice to this topic other than Dr. Femi Adefila, an erudite scholar, a broadcast Journalist, Media Manager, Television Presenter and a political communication expert.
The event will take place at IMOLE House Hall, between 3pm and 6pm.
Also there will be presentation of 2022 Merit Award to the deserving members of the public.
According to Adegbite, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Governor elect is no doubt the people’s governor, will be decorated as the Magazine Man of the Year while Honorable Bamidele Salam will be giving Distinguished Federal Lawmaker of the year award, The Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly Hon. Timothy Owoeye will also be giving Distinguished Legislator of the year award. Other Awardees include; HRM Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin (Orangun of Oke Ila), Professor Solomon Ajayi Adebola (Vc Adeleke University,Ede), Akinkunmi Alabi (GM. Fresh fm Osogbo), Chief (Mrs) Jumoke Lawal Iya Pineapple, Alhaji Tajudeen Gbadamosi, Dr. Chief (Mrs) Bose Dawodu, Grace Oyin Adejobi (Iya Osogbo) and Alhaji Karimu Adepoju (Baba Wande).

FHA ED, Remi Omowaiye in Trouble over N150m MIST Fund Fraud

Former Commissioner for Works and the current Executive Director at the Federal Housing Authority, Remi Omowaiye is in fresh trouble over an alleged N150m MIST fund fraud when he served as the maiden Commissioner for the Ministry of Science and Innovation under the Aregbesola administration. Feelers from the state government indicated that shocking details were uncovered on the FHA director during a contract review process on which he was already penciled down over a particular road contract. A source told our reporter that the money was meant for some information and communication gadgets to be shipped to Nigeria. Till date, there was no invoice nor any equipment from the transaction. IGP Egbetokun Conniving with Oyetola and Osun APC to assassinate Adeleke, PDP alleges

The leadership of the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun of hobnobbing with the opposition All Progressives Congress to assassinate the state governor, Ademola Adeleke amid the crisis surrounding control of local government areas in the state. Addresing a press conference at the PDP secretariat in Osogbo, the party chairman, Sunday Bisi, alleged that Egbetokun gave sacked local government chairmen under the platform of APC security cover to take control of councils, saying the development was part of the plot to “get rid” of Governor Adeleke.
