ADELEKE GENERAL SUMMIT ENDORSES GOVERNOR ADELEKE FOR SECOND TERM, URGES MASSIVE PARTICIPATION IN VOTER REGISTRATION
The Adeleke General Summit (AGS), the largest and most vibrant political support movement in Osun State, has officially endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office. This decision was unanimously reached at the Summit’s stakeholders’ meeting,which had in attendance representatives from across the local governments and federal constituencies of Osun State.
In the resolution of Adeleke General Summit, the leadership and members of AGS noted that the endorsement was based on a careful evaluation of the achievements of Governor Adeleke’s administration. Stakeholders commended the Governor for his commitment to workers’ welfare, infrastructure development, healthcare reform, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance, describing his leadership as a model worthy of continuity beyond 2026.
A major highlight of the meeting was the emphasis on the ongoing voter registration exercise which commenced yesterday, August 18th, 2025. The Summit urged its members, coordinators, and the Board of Trustees to actively mobilize citizens across Osun State to register for their voter’s cards, stressing that participation in the electoral process is critical to sustaining good governance under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Reports presented by support group coordinators from across the thirty local government include area council Modakeke showed encouraging progress, with a call for increased effort in local government areas where turnout was still low according to the report and update given by the coordinators.
In his remarks, the BOT Chairman of AGS, who also serves as Chairman of Ede South Local Government and ALGON Secretary, Hon. Lukman Afolabi (Aberesose), expressed appreciation to members for their steadfastness and loyalty to the Adeleke dynasty. He commended the contributions of state, senatorial, and local government coordinators, while charging them to intensify mobilization and remain united in support of the Governor’s administration. He also appealed to members who may feel sidelined to exercise patience, assuring them of inclusiveness and equal access to opportunity when the time comes. The BOT chairman, Afolabi also coated that the current administration under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke has never forgotten anyone both local, constituencies and state level.
The Summit further unveiled new leadership appointments to strengthen its grassroots operations: Hon. Waheed Aresa (Osun Central), Hon. Fayenuwo Oladimeji Isaac (Osun East), and Hon. Felix Adesola Oladele (Osun West) were announced as senatorial coordinators, while Hon. Olusegun Annu was appointed to lead Women Affairs mobilization towards the 2026 governorship election.
The meeting recorded strong representation from 27 local governments, with only three LGAs unavoidably absent. Dignitaries at the event included Hon. Dapo Okunola (Boripe LGA), Deputy Speaker, Hon. Akinyode Abidemi Oyewusi represented, Engr Akinmade Akintoye,Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour and Industrial Relations Hon. Oyebade Bamidele Adewale, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media Monitoring Comrade Samakin Abdul-Jeleel Abiodun, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Projects and Rural Development Hon. Gbenga Ajayi, Hon. Olusola Samuel Olufemi, Hon. Oladeji Kayode,Other SAs and several other government aides and party leaders were present.

The Adeleke General Summit reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing for the continuity of good governance under Governor Ademola Adeleke and resolved to reconvene for another stakeholders’ meeting in September 2025,while voter's card registration report committee was also part of the remarkable decision of Adeleke General Summit and the leadership concluded.
