This is to inform the general public that His Excellency the Governor of Osun State Dr. Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke has declared Monday 8th July, 2024 as public holiday to celebrate Islamic New year Hijirah 1446AH.     His Excellency,the Governor of Osun State is also using this medium to appeal to all Islamic faithfuls to use the period of the celebration to pray for peace, progress and development of the State and Nigeria as a whole.

IGP Egbetokun Conniving with Oyetola and Osun APC to assassinate Adeleke, PDP alleges

The leadership of the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun of hobnobbing with the opposition All Progressives Congress to assassinate the state governor, Ademola Adeleke amid the crisis surrounding control of local government areas in the state. Addresing a press conference at the PDP secretariat in Osogbo, the party chairman, Sunday Bisi, alleged that Egbetokun gave sacked local government chairmen under the platform of APC security cover to take control of councils, saying the development was part of the plot to “get rid” of Governor Adeleke. The empowerment initiatives tagged "Asendo / Imole Empowerment" entail: (1) 30 refrigerators: 15 to be shared for the 15 Vice-Chairmen and 15 ward secretaries. (2) 15 persons per ward to receive 5 kg of Rice across the 15 wards in Odo-Otin local government. The event is scheduled for Monday, March 17, 2025. Venue: Asendo Residence, along Ekusa Road, Inisa.
