LAWMAKER CALLS FOR URGENT INTERVENTION AS STRANGE DISEASE KILLS OVER 17 PERSONS IN BENUE



Lawmaker representing Benue South, Abba Patrick Moro, has called on the Ministry of Health for swift intervention as a ‘strange disease’ kills 17 people in Ankpa community, with several others currently receiving treatment in the hospitals.
Moro, while commiserating with the families of victims, asked the government to send health experts to the community to save the lives of the people.

He said, “The outbreak of disease and unfortunate deaths in Owukpa came at a time the state government and health experts are battling to contain a similar incident in Otukpa.”

A similar strange sickness broke out in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State with at least 11 persons dead.

Similarly in Delta State, 30 persons died from an unknown disease the state government claimed to be Yellow Fever.

FHA ED, Remi Omowaiye in Trouble over N150m MIST Fund Fraud

Former Commissioner for Works and the current Executive Director at the Federal Housing Authority, Remi Omowaiye is in fresh trouble over an alleged N150m MIST fund fraud when he served as the maiden Commissioner for the Ministry of Science and Innovation under the Aregbesola administration. Feelers from the state government indicated that shocking details were uncovered on the FHA director during a contract review process on which he was already penciled down over a particular road contract. A source told our reporter that the money was meant for some information and communication gadgets to be shipped to Nigeria. Till date, there was no invoice nor any equipment from the transaction. IGP Egbetokun Conniving with Oyetola and Osun APC to assassinate Adeleke, PDP alleges

The leadership of the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun of hobnobbing with the opposition All Progressives Congress to assassinate the state governor, Ademola Adeleke amid the crisis surrounding control of local government areas in the state.
