[BREAKING] 2023: VOTE US OUT IF YOU’RE TIRED OF OUR FACES, LAWAN TELLS NIGERIANS- Politics


Senate President Ahmad Lawan warned that if the Senate were abolished as criticized by some Nigerians, there might be chaos.
Rather, he challenged those who are not happy with the senators in the new 9th Senate to vote them out in 2023 if they don’t like their faces.

Lawan announced this on Friday, while announcing an open retreat for senior management of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Service Commission in Abuja.

In comparison to the House of Representatives, where states with higher populations generate the highest number of legislators, he described the Senate as a leveler that ensured that all parts of the country are equally represented.

Because of the alleged jumbo pay received by the senators, the Senate President also faulted the claim of those clamoring for the scrapping of the Senate.

He said the annual budget of the National Assembly is less than one per cent of the nation’s 2021 budget.

FHA ED, Remi Omowaiye in Trouble over N150m MIST Fund Fraud

Former Commissioner for Works and the current Executive Director at the Federal Housing Authority, Remi Omowaiye is in fresh trouble over an alleged N150m MIST fund fraud when he served as the maiden Commissioner for the Ministry of Science and Innovation under the Aregbesola administration. Feelers from the state government indicated that shocking details were uncovered on the FHA director during a contract review process on which he was already penciled down over a particular road contract. IGP Egbetokun Conniving with Oyetola and Osun APC to assassinate Adeleke, PDP alleges

The leadership of the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun of hobnobbing with the opposition All Progressives Congress to assassinate the state governor, Ademola Adeleke amid the crisis surrounding control of local government areas in the state.
