Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed commitment to pursue resolution of the Osun local government question to a logical conclusion through legal means, congratulating people of Osun State over the recent Court of Appeal judgement.  In a statement issued on Sunday, the governor hailed the court ruling as finally reaffirming the truth about the legality of the validly elected and sworn in PDP chairmen and councillors following the court sacking of APC Yes/No chairmen in 2022. The governor who commended the patience and commitment to due process by Osun people, noted that the latest judgement has put paid to any lie about reinstatement of previously sacked chairmen and affirmed the legitimacy of the PDP chairmen and councillors. “Unlike the opposition, we are people of due process. Dear good people, indigenes and residents of Osun State, especially those who are stakeholders in the Osun State local government electoral process, I am glad to inform you that the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has today re-affirmed that the local government election conducted by this Commission in 2022 under the immediate past administration was null and void,  as such the acclaimed beneficiaries of the said election benefitted nothing. This translated to the fact that as the time this Commission under my leadership commenced the process of the February 2025 local government election throughout the period of the election, vacancies did exist in Osun local council political offices. The constitutional mandate of this Commission is to organise and supervise conduct of local government elections at the due time. The event, organized by Peace and Unity Safety Services under the chairmanship of Mr. Sunday Oluwaremilekun Oyedokun (Ona-Arinye), in conjunction with Osun State Government.
