Opinion: The Travails of Sunday ‘Igboho’ Adeyemo

The last has not been heard of the brouhaha that has engulfed the person of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho and the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government of Nigeria. At the turn of the week, Sunday Igboho was nabbed at the Cadjèhoun Airport Cotonou while attempting to relocate to Germany after the Nigerian government through the Department of State Service (DSS) declared him wanted and issued a warrant of arrest against him. He was accused of stockpiling arms among other offences. Though the activist has denied the allegation, he felt, according to his lawyer that his life was no longer safe in Nigeria, and therefore, sought asylum in foreign land. Ever since Friday, January 15, 2021, which by all intent and purposes is instructive in the history of Yoruba land and its attendant security, Sunday Igboho became both a hero and a villain. Ayo Adebayo: Femi Adesina, A Betrayer Of Yoruba People

Pan- Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere has declared Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari as a betrayer of the Yoruba people following his recent statement justifying the actions of his principal. Chief Ayo Adebanjo, the National Leader of the organisation who stated this in an exclusive interview with DAILY INDEPENDENT on Saturday said Adesina’s utterances since becoming the President’s media aide is at variance with his views before his appointment. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will be speaking at this year edition of Oke Ogun Youth Agric. Summit holding on the 5th of August 2021 at Iseyin Town Hall, Iseyin in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State.
